I believe my 12th great grandfather was Pedro Lopez de Haro (I have records up to my 11th, Pieter Lopes de Haro who was married to Catharine van den Berge - of Leuven). I have found a story where the older Pedro/Peter participated in defending Louvain during the "seige of Louvain" 1539-1542.

I am wondering where I might try to find additional information -- any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

He seems to be an interesting ancestor/character. I also have found this information
somewhere I read (on an ancestory site, with no sources sited) that he was part of the entourage (which I read was about 1000 people) who accompanied Isabella of Austria went to Denmark to marry Christian II. But do not know if that merits a diploma of nobility, Have not had any success trying to learn any more. (another genealogical websits says Christian and Isabella stayed at Pedro's wifes home during some of their time in exile. Again any pointers for what to seek next are appreciated.

Have you tried searching here: agatha.arch.be/search/analyses/ (opent in een nieuw tabblad)
It's where you can search indexed data in Belgium. I just tried it to see if something came up. When I entered "Lopez de Haro", I found the following:

I have seen that and the original references. Some of the information makes sense, but some of it does not really fit timelines. I will keep plodding along.
