I am researching this family who are my Dutch husband's ancestors, and having a lot of difficulty finding Adrianus Joannes SCHELLEN. He was probably born < 1540, married with Adriani, also probably born <1540. His son Joannes Henrici SCHELLEN was bapt. Gemonde 14-05-1561, died St. Michielsgestel 09-09-1615, married Gemonde 05-05-1591 Jacobi VAN OERS, bapt. Gemonde 15-05-1568.
I have a Family Tree that was done by a cousin of my husband in the Netherlands. He has gone back to a Henricus Joannes SCHELLE, born 22-12-1595 St Michielsgestel (a son of the above Joannis Henrici SCHELLEN), died 17-06-1647, and his son was also a Joannes Henrici, bapt. 16-06-1630 Gemonde, died 02--01-1703 Boxtel, married 17-02-1670 Liempde Godefrida HENDRIX, bapt. 17-02-1670, and from their children, right down to today.
However, there are no bapt. details given at all for any other person. I have found myself details on BHIC of Oda SCELLEN, bapt. 16-05-1601 Gemonde, daughter of Henricus Joannis SCELLEN, in the RK Doopboek at St. Michielsgestel. There are also bapt. for children of the Henricus above by a mother Adriana N.N. (names - Maria (1823), Joannes (1630) & Adrianus (1632) - the latter entry has SCHELLEKENS as the surname!). The child Joannes is probably the Joannes mentioned above as the dates are the same (Joannes Henrici SCHELLE - the later one).
I also found an Adrianus Joannis SCELLEN married to Elisabeth N.N., with the youngest of 5 children bapt. 20-02-1620 Gemonde. Could he be a brother of our Henricus Johannes SCHELLE (1595), who married an Adriana GOIJERS (surname as 'N.N.')?
It is all so confusing & there are so many gaps in the BHIC records and a lot missing too! Can anyone help me please? I am sorry that this is such a long & muddled query - hope someone has some answers for me - thank you all in anticipation.
